we will celebrate our 70th Anniversary. We provide
labor in the form of Marine Clerks, Checkers, Weighers,
Tallymen, Timekeepers, and Inspectors for our employers. We
tally, check, and inspect the various types of freight that
is unloaded or loaded from trucks and/or railcars to be loaded
onto ships or that has been discharged from ships. In today's
maritime industry the main focus is the maritime container
that has replaced the general or loose cargo that was primarily
loaded on ships for years. The maritime container ha provided
for amore safe and secure means of transport of freight. This
local has been at the front of this technological revolution
in training our personnel to adapt to this new technology.
We employ approximately 300 people in these various jobs.
